Roebling On The River

John A Roebling Suspension Bridge, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Spanning the Ohio River between Cincinatti, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky, the John A Roebling Suspension bridge was at one time the longest suspension bridge in the world.

John A Roebling may not be a household name, but a more famous bridge he made in Brooklyn demonstrates the quality and longevity of his work.

Rite of Spring

Fountain, Burnet Woods, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
This beautiful fountain greets visitors to Burnet Woods Park in Cincinnati.  The scene reminds us of a mild spring day.  The weather in the photo and the sculpture's ballet-like pose gave us inspiration for today's photo title.

Langoliers?

Cincinnati International Airport, Kentucky, United States
This scene from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is reminiscent of the Stephen King novel "The Langoliers".  Because of cutbacks and mergers in the airline industry, much of the once vibrant CVG now languishes.

Quick, It's the Trouble Alert

Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
For those of us from a certain generation, Saturday mornings were spent watching the Super Friends (Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and their sidekicks) save the world.  Based at the Hall of Justice, the Super Friends used their superhero powers for the good of all.  In the Hall of Justice, the Trouble Alert notified the Super Friends of the latest threats to mankind.

The fictional Hall of Justice was based on Cincinnati's Union Terminal (now the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal) and it was thrill to see a fond memory of childhood fiction come to life.

It's all a Blur

Spence Bridge Over Ohio River, Kentucky and Ohio,USA
We snapped this shot while crossing the Spence Bridge into Cincinnati.  Everything but the US 50 badge is blurry in this picture.  We have no idea how or why the 50 is clear, but it makes for a fascinating picture.
